Change the name of my computer in vista

Typically a computer's name is not "windows user". I don't believe you can even have a space in a computer name. So maybe what they want to do is change a user's name. There are two aspects of this. You can change the displayed name. In this case from "windows user" to something else. This will not change the actual underlying user's name. Or if you want to create a completely new user, you would can do that as well.

What I needed was to change the name of the computer and ibo walked me through it and it worked. However I was not able to put a space between my grandson's first and last name. On his brother's computer I named the computer with his name when I set up the computer and I have a space in his name.
